Santa Clause Ain't Got Nothin on Us! Part 1

It is officially that time of year again...Christmas is almost over. :( Please note, there will be a lot of pictures for a couple of reasons. First, we got a lot of cute ones of the kids and second, I haven't put very many on in the first place.

Our Christmas tree turned out beautiful this year and I'm so grateful for a mom and aunt who instilled in the fine art of ornament collecting! I have so many memories attached to all of my ornaments and it was so fun to have Siobhan help decorate and in turn, be able to tell her about them. Everything from the Barbie ones that I collected for so many years, to all of the mice that I inherited after mom died. It will be even more when she understands a little better. She really did do a great job helping me decorate and made sure that she handled everything very gingerly....as all two year olds do, right? Yeah, not so much. But lets just say that nothing broke beyond repair and the bottom two feet of our tree was well covered.

We did a lot of celebrating last weekend when Carson's parents and brother came into town and a few of the present highlights included the Special Addition TMX tickle me Elmo, a really fun tunnel and tent play toy (couldn't think of a better description) and Elmo panties. I couldn't resist the picture. She posed at just the right time. Now, if only she were potty trained......

Santa and relatives were very good to us this year. When Siobhan woke up and we told her that Santa came and brought her presents, she was a little disappointed to find out that he wasn't still at our house. But after a reminder that he had to take presents to other kids, she quickly got over it. More highlights include a doll stroller, a shopping cart, ride on inch worm (which Siobhan refers to as Worm Candys....to her, all worms are gummy worms), Sleeping Beauty jammies and doll, leotards, markers, an Elmo laptop and few other things. Mommy got leg warmers (hello 80's), cute shoes, some clothes, a red colander and few more fun things. Daddy got a few things that he both needed and wanted and Audrey received lots of thing to help her little mind continue to grow.

Siobhan's first experience with her markers was, shall we say, fun. Within minutes, she had red drawn all over cheek, purple on her lips and black up her nose. We got her all cleaned up (thank heavens for washable Crayolas) and within hours she had done it all again!

Audrey also got her first taste of Licorice thanks to Daddy! I couldn't resist taking another picture. I do worry though that by taking the picture, I only encouraged him. But it was adorable.

What a wonderful time of year it is and a wonderful Christmas for the Mitchells! It snowed all day so the scenery could not have been more beautiful...more about that tomorrow. For now, us Elf's need some sleep!

Cute pictures! Sound like you guys had a great day! I love the marker on the face picture, that's priceless. Brynley colored on her tummy with Hayden's dry erase marker. Let's just say it's pretty permanent! Can't wait to see more.
