Baby Will's Debut

I know that my sister already did a post about our new arrival on her blog (Thanks Meredith-I still can't figure out why I couldn't post on my blog in the hospital) but I wanted to post on our blog. So if you follow her blog, double dose of Will. If you follow only my blog and haven't a clue who my sister is so why would you follow her blog, here's a heaping helping of the
adorableness that is
William Phinehas Mitchell!
Here's the story:
I woke up on Wednesday morning (2/11/09) at midnight on the dot with a horrible contraction. I didn't really think about it much becuase at this stage in pregnancy, that happens. So I breathed through the contaction and went back to sleep. 25 minutes later, I was at it again. 20 minutes after that, same thing. That went on for a while and by 1 am, they were 8 minutes apart. By 2 am, they were about 3 minutes apart. That meant heading for the hospital. We packed up the girls and took them to our awesome friends the Huish family. I felt so bad for waking them up at 3 am. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do. By then, the contractions were literally on top of each other and we had about a 40 minute drive to the hospital. The drive there was literally like a scene from a movie. It had been snowing so the roads were icy, I almost made Carson take me to a closer hospital, I was very worried that I was going to deliver on the side of the road, I kept telling him to drive faster, he had one hand on the wheel and one hand up timing my breathing and we got to the hospital just in time. He even left the car in the middle of the road, running, while he got me in. We arrived at the hospital at 3:45 and William made his appearance at 4:36 am. My doctor almost didn't make it. When I got to the hospital, I was literally ready to push and my doctor got there just in time to catch. Many of you know that I had the goal of doing this one natural and it's a good thing that I had that goal becuase I wouldn't have been able to get the epidural even if I wanted it. I'm so glad that I was prepared.

Now please enjoy some pictures of our adorable little man. These are from the hospital and from the day we came home.

Mommy and her Baby Boy literally seconds after delivery.

I had to post this picture. Does anyone remember how big Siobhan's feet were when she was born? Check out those tootsies. I can actually fold them up on to his legs.

Me and the kiddos. I can't believe there's three of them now! I made both of the girls 'Big Sister' T-shirts and Will got a 'Little Brother' onsie. I'm not sure what Siobhan is doing in this picture.

Check out that head of hair! He was given his first bath by some nursing students and apparently his hair was the talk of the nursery. They had a lot of fun styling it!

Will was very excited to go home as were Carson and I!

I meant to say the girls were great while they were here. Rather important adjective to leave out huh? (-:
