Erin Go Brough

We don't ever do a lot for Valentines Day and Easter is always a hit and a miss. But we do have a fun tradition for St. Patricks Day. We have a family leprechaun named Liam who comes to visit while we sleep. He's a little sneaky. He comes in through the window and explores around the house paying particular attention to where we keep the food. And he always leaves footprints. He never takes anything and never makes a mess and he always leaves treats, so we always forgive him. You might remember his antics that I posted about in this post from last year. This year we decided that for family home evening, each of the kids would decorate little buckets for the leprechaun to leave treats in. Then we set them on the windowsill where they would be easy to find.

The cute grils with their buckets from Liam!

We got the buckets from the Target $1 spot and the Leprechaun filled them with all kinds of treats. Peanut butter cups, tootsie rolls, mint 3 musketeers, gum for Siobhan and fun stuffed animals and few other goodies.

We started off the day with green pancakes and green milk...that was after a lot of candy was consumed. I ran out of green food coloring so we had to makeshift with blue and yellow mixed. You can't tell from the pictures, but the pancakes really were green and, of course, shamrock shaped.

Carson's work usually has a pot luck for St. Patricks Day, but I guess that with the declining economy and such, they decided not to this year. So I decided that I would make all of Carson's team miniature Soda Bread loafs. They turned out really cute-all 16 of them! But they turned out to be a big hit, so that was fun. And it was really only two batches and soda bread is pretty easy, so not a whole lot of work.
Once again, I forgot to take pictures of the kids in theif outfits, but they looked really cute. I might do a restaging of the event so I can get a few on them in their green. After naps, I took the kids to Carson's work for Wills big debut and then it was off to Hard Rock-Will's first trip! We had a great night!

You are so good! We had a big dinner and wore green but that was about it. The footprints though...cute!

So cute! You guys sure had more fun than us! I pinched my kids all day for not wearing green, but really, who's fault is that?
