Proof!

I stated in this post that I wanted to become obsessive about bed making. I've been talking about it for a while with Carson and really expressing a desire to be better about it. I don't have any really great reason aside from the fact that I think it's a lost art and I kind of feel like I'm in a hotel when I climb into bed at night into a beautifully made bed with crisp sheets. And if I do get around to cleaning in a bedroom, it's never done until the bed's made. Sometimes it even motivates me in reverse. I'll make the bed first and then clean the bedroom because who wants to look at a beautifully made bed nestled among piles of dirty laundry and kid toys? So I've been getting really good at making our bed and I'm teaching the girls how to make theirs. I made them all this morning and I'm sad to say that both girls are napping thus undoing said bed making, but I can say that at least once today, all three beds in our house were made. Here's the pics to prove it:

Our master bed. Yes, we sleep in a bed that small. I love this bedding. My sister Meredith made it for me and I don't ever want to change it-one of the reasons that I don't want a new bigger bed because I don't want to change this bedding. Isn't it beautiful? Go tell Meredith I said so. How could you not want to make this bed everyday?

Audrey's new big kid bed. It's a little hard to make it look nice because I've got the wall on one side to contend with and the rail on the other side. But hey, the bed's made...and on another note, she loves being in the big bed. I'm so glad we did the railing though. We didn't need it for Siobhan even though she was about the same age when we moved her in. Siobhan was just much more sturdy than Audrey and the biggest movement she makes at night is pulling her thumb out of her mouth. Audrey on the other hand is a totally different story. All over the place!
Siobhan's bed. I know that the Tinkerbell pillow and all the guys amongst the pillows are not very fitting with the decor of the room, but she's got to have all of her friends. And below are some pics of Siobhan's room that she got for her birthday.

Some other views of Siobhan's room. Reading corner on the left and another view of her bed when you walk in. I love the color green that we chose. In the reading corner you'll notice the mobile that I made for Siobhan's nursery. I made it out of ballet shoe key rings, silk flowers, ribbon and a quilting ring. I thought that it made a good decorative ornament to hang above the reading corner. There's also letters that spell her name that are going between the posts of her bed. Just need to be sanded and they are doing up tonight!

Yes, I LOVE the beds being made. Mine are usually made 5 out of 7 days, although Hayden's is often neglected because of being a loft bed and against the wall and surrounded on all 4 sides. I need ot figure out how to better make his bed, it bugs me. Sio's room is super cute. I hope to get my kid's rooms painted in the next month or so... We'll see.

You have done a great job on Siobhan's room. I love the green color too! Made beds are the best!
